Pophouse Entertainment · with Meta
KISS has always been a universe as much as a band, built on mythology, spectacle, and belonging. KISS Constellation was built for the moment a new fan stops listening and starts earning their place in the KISS Army — a multi-platform game across mobile, web, and mixed reality, with concert footage, editorial, and original content.
A universe this rich deserved to be played, not just watched.
KISS has one of the most recognisable universes in rock history, built across decades of music, iconography, mythology, and spectacle. For a growing audience of younger fans, it had always been something to observe rather than enter. Meta and Pophouse Entertainment engaged Astral City to change that.
The KISS universe, made playable, discoverable, and built for every fan.
KISS Constellation is a multi-platform game universe built across four playable worlds — with AI-powered guides, concert footage, editorial content, and a fan journey designed to reward both first-time visitors and the most devoted members of the KISS Army.
A universe framework rooted in KISS mythology, built to reward exploration — the strategic and creative vision that shaped the experience from brief to build.
Four distinct playable environments, each grounded in a different corner of the KISS universe — systems, mechanics, and progression built to serve new fans, core fans, and superfans simultaneously.
Meta AI-powered NPC mentors voiced and designed to feel like credible presences inside the game — guiding players deeper into the lore rather than explaining it from outside.
A multi-platform concept across mobile, web, and mixed reality — alongside a tech feasibility report, concept animatic, game design document with animated mockups, and a Universe Bible.
"Fans don't just want to consume the mythology. They want to live it. So we gave them ways to go deeper — into the lore, into the band, into their fandom."
It brought legacy fans to new platforms. And new fans to the legacy.
KISS Constellation validated two things at once. Legacy fans showed a clear appetite for new formats when the experience was built with genuine depth and respect for the lore. And younger fans proved willing to engage with legacy content when given a playable way in.
Gaming is no longer just a promotional tactic. It is a storytelling format, a fan engagement platform, and a permanent presence — one that works alongside touring, streaming, merchandise, and content in a wider ecosystem. The findings here are specific to KISS. The model is not.
